Eco-Evolution 2024

On August 14, 2024, Eco Imagination was honored to participate in the Eco-Evolution event, a must-attend gathering dedicated to technological advances and innovative solutions in sustainable development. This event brought together leaders, innovators, and environmental advocates to explore new practices and technologies to accelerate the ecological transition.

During this day rich in exchanges and discoveries, Eco Imagination actively contributed by presenting two major European projects: SEANERGY and INNOAQUA.

SEANERGY: Transforming ports into clean energy hubs

As part of SEANERGY, funded by Horizon Europe, we presented the SEANERGY Master Plan, a comprehensive strategy to rethink the role of ports in the transition to a low-carbon future.

Ports are now essential infrastructures for global trade, but also major sources of greenhouse gas emissions. The objective of the SEANERGY Master Plan is to make them clean energy hubs, integrating solutions such as:

✅ Electrification of quays to reduce the use of fossil fuels.

✅ The deployment of alternative fuels such as hydrogen and biogas.

✅ Optimization of logistics flows to reduce the environmental impact of maritime transport.

This initiative is fully in line with the European Union's vision of achieving zero-emission ports by 2050.

INNOAQUA: Revolutionizing aquaculture with algae

Eco Imagination also highlighted INNOAQUA, a pioneering project in the exploitation of algae for sustainable and circular aquaculture.

The aquaculture industry is undergoing a transformation, with an urgent need for more ecological solutions. INNOAQUA is exploring the integration of algae into fish farming systems to:

🌱 Reduce the environmental impact of fish farms.

🌱 Valorize by-products using biorefinery solutions.

🌱 Promote new sustainable protein sources for human and animal nutrition.

The project draws on an advanced scientific and technological approach to rethink food production from marine and freshwater ecosystems.

Participating in Eco-Evolution 2024 offered Eco Imagination a valuable opportunity to share the progress of its projects with a large international network of stakeholders committed to sustainable development. This event also reinforced our commitment to concrete and sustainable solutions, both in the port sector and in aquaculture. Finally, it provided an opportunity to exchange with experts and partners on the next steps of the ecological transition. This conference thus highlighted the importance of cooperation and innovation as essential drivers to accelerate the transition to a greener economy.
