On March 18, 2024, in celebration of Global Recycling Day, Eco Imagination participated in a day of awareness and educational workshops to promote best recycling and waste sorting practices among the residents of Nice.
This initiative aimed to educate, inform, and inspire citizens to adopt more responsible habits in order to reduce their environmental footprint and improve their waste management.
Recycling plays a crucial role in preserving our planet. However, many people still struggle with proper waste sorting or are unaware of the impact of their consumption on the environment.
With this in mind, Eco Imagination decided to engage directly with the people of Nice to:
🌱 Explain the importance of recycling and its positive effects on waste reduction.
♻ Highlight common sorting mistakes and provide simple solutions to improve recycling practices.
The day featured a series of interactive and engaging workshops, allowing participants to learn through hands-on activities.
🔹 “Sorting Waste Correctly” Workshop : An educational game helped participants test their knowledge of selective waste sorting by placing different types of waste into the correct bins. This workshop identified common mistakes and provided solutions tailored to the local waste collection system.
🔹 “Upcycling: Giving Objects a Second Life” Workshop : Instead of throwing things away, why not reuse and transform them? This creative workshop introduced participants to upcycling, teaching them how to create new objects from recovered materials, such as customized clothing, flower pots made from plastic bottles, and decorations crafted from recycled cardboard.
🔹 “Zero Waste in Everyday Life” Workshop : Participants discovered simple and accessible alternatives to reduce waste at its source, including homemade natural cleaning products, reusable containers, and tips to limit food waste.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many residents expressing their commitment to better waste sortingand a desire to adopt more eco-friendly practices.
Eco Imagination believes that every small gesture counts and that raising awareness about recycling can make a significant difference for the planet.
