ECO Imagination organised the 4th INNOAQUA Bi-Annual Meeting in Nice

On 30 June and 1 July 2025, ECO Imagination participated in the 4th Bi-Annual Meeting of the INNOAQUA project, held in Nice, France. The meeting brought together 16 consortium partners from 7 countries to review project achievements, assess ongoing activities, and align on next steps.

The first day opened with a welcome session led by project coordinator NORCE, followed by a summary of the first project year. A dedicated session on synergies highlighted related European projects, including LOCALITY, Aquaphoenix, and Giant LEAPS, creating opportunities for future collaboration. A roundtable discussion further supported exchanges between initiatives.

The afternoon focused on progress across the first four Work Packages (WP1–WP4), showcasing advancements in societal engagement, sustainable aquaculture practices, processing technologies, and the development of innovative algae-based food ingredients.

The second day continued with updates from WP5 (sustainability, safety, and regulation) and WP6 (communication, dissemination, and exploitation). Discussions addressed project-wide circularity KPIs as well as communication and dissemination strategies.

As a partner involved in communication and dissemination activities, ECO Imagination contributed to discussions aimed at strengthening the project’s visibility and structuring stakeholder engagement actions.

Afternoon sessions explored social and consumer perspectives on algae-based ingredients, including insights into decision-making models and feedback on early-stage product development.

The meeting concluded with a Project Steering Committee session, consolidating key decisions and priorities for the next phase. The event reaffirmed the strong collaboration within the INNOAQUA consortium and its shared commitment to advancing sustainable food systems.
