On 5–6 November 2025, ECO Imagination participated in the 5th Bi-Annual Meeting of the INNOAQUA project, bringing together the consortium to review progress and exchange on the development of innovative algae-based solutions for a more sustainable aquaculture sector in Europe.
The meeting began with a Project Steering Committee focused on strategic coordination and priority setting. Following this internal session, the full consortium gathered to launch the official programme.
Discussions addressed key topics including the social acceptance of algae-based innovations, exploitation strategies, regulatory risk assessment, and communication activities. Partners also presented technological advancements, particularly in processing techniques and the development of new algae-based ingredients.
The second day was dedicated to detailed updates from each Work Package, allowing partners to present results, share lessons learned, and identify upcoming challenges.
As co-leader of the Work Package on communication, dissemination, and exploitation (WP6), alongside PEDAL, ECO Imagination contributed to strengthening the project’s visibility and structuring outreach activities towards key stakeholders.
The meeting concluded with the introduction of new Advisory Board members and a feedback session, bringing valuable external perspectives to the project.
This 5th Bi-Annual Meeting highlighted INNOAQUA’s interdisciplinary strength, combining technological innovation, social sciences, regulatory considerations, and communication strategies. The consortium continues to advance its work to position algae as a key component of Europe’s sustainable food systems, in line with the Farm to Fork strategy.
