World Water Day

Every year on March 22, the world celebrates World Water Day, a United Nations initiative aimed at raising awareness about the importance of freshwater and promoting the sustainable management of water resources. In 2025, the chosen theme is “Water for Peace – Glaciers Matter”, highlighting the crucial role glaciers play in our ecosystem.

Why is glacier preservation essential?

Glaciers store nearly 70% of the planet’s freshwater. Their accelerated melting due to climate change threatens drinking water supplies, agriculture, clean energy production, and biodiversity. Furthermore, the disappearance of glaciers contributes to sea level rise, endangering coastal communities.

At ECO Imagination, we recognise the vital importance of water for sustainable development and the urgent need to protect our water resources in the face of climate challenges. Our commitment is reflected in the organisation of educational workshops and awareness campaigns about the impact of climate change on water resources, especially glaciers.

How can you contribute?

  • Educate yourself and raise awareness: Learn about water-related issues and share this knowledge with those around you.

  • Reduce your water footprint: Adopt water-saving habits in your daily life.

  • Support local initiatives: Get involved in community projects focused on protecting water resources.

On this World Water Day 2025, let us unite our efforts to protect our glaciers and ensure a sustainable future for all.
